The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft

Houston, TX

The renowned Houston Craft Museum suffered extensive water damage during Hurricane Beryl. In the aftermath, the Center’s leadership received multiple bids from subcontractors eager to help. They just weren’t sure where to start, how to organize the work, and how to plan for the weeks of construction and down time. WorkShop was engaged to assist by defining and coordinating a scope of work, establishing a budget and schedule and overseeing construction. The project was completed on budget and in time for a celebratory reopening of the Center.

Restoration work was carried out over 2 months and included exterior waterproofing, new site drainage and extensive interior repairs. Work was completed in time for the grand re-opening and the fall exhibit, “Designing Motherhood”
